Where: Peninsula Resort  202 Holmes Point Road-Pefferlaw ON  www.peninsularesort.net

Why: The Pefferlaw River Take a Kid Fishing event is being held in partnership with The Pefferlaw Anglers, Town of Georgina, Aurora District MNR, York Environmental Stewardship (YES), Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Peninsula Resort and the Pefferlaw Post. Our event will be held at the Peninsula Resort, 202 Holmes Point Road in Pefferlaw, Ontario. Here, the Pefferlaw River empties into Lake Simcoe and terrific fishing opportunities exist.  Our primary goal is to introduce kids and their families to the wonderful world of fishing and promote outdoor safety.
Cost: As with all summer fishing events held under the Ontario Family Fishing Week banner, there will be no cost for participants here in Pefferlaw. Adults DO NOT require a fishing licence to fish although conservation limits will apply. Kids will be able to enjoy the free use of a limited number of rods and reels, basic tackle and bait. There will be hot dogs, refreshments and a free draw for sponsor-donated prizes.
Promotion: The Pefferlaw River Take a Kid Fishing Event is expected to draw 100 young people and their families and will be promoted via posters and local media
together with sponsor and partner related websites:

Further Details: A limited number of rods and reels will be supplied on a first come, first served basis and registered participants will be given priority but everyone is encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it.
Volunteers will hand out loaner rods and provide some basic instruction to assist the young anglers. For many this will be their first experience catching and handling a fish.
Registration for this event will take place approximately 3 weeks prior to the event. If you have registered in the past we will contact you when registration begins.
