Where: Peninsula Resort-202 Holmes Point Road-Pefferlaw ON www.peninsularesort.net Ministry of Natural Resources Ministère des Natural Resources Richesses naturelles 50 Bloomington Road W Aurora, ON L4G 3G8 July 18, 2008 To: All sponsors and volunteers of the 2008 Pefferlaw River Family Fishing Event: On behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resource’s, I would like to convey a heartfelt thank you, to you and all the sponsors and volunteers who helped make the recent Pefferlaw River Family Fishing Day such a huge success. There were over 30 dedicated volunteers, led by local event chair Paul Kirby who helped kids enjoy a great day of fishing with their families. The task of untangling fishing lines, handing out worms, cooking hotdogs or just answering questions about fishing are all very important to the success of the event. The prizes supplied by several businesses were an added bonus and for those who donated them – a special thank you. With help from numerous partners, families across the GTA were introduced to a fun and free day of fishing at seven Urban Fishing Festivals in 2008. In only its 2nd year, the Pefferlaw event has already established itself as one of the most successful – and with more sponsors than any other event coordinated by our office. Congratulations to everyone involved! Hopefully all of these family fishing days will translate into more future avid anglers who enjoy, conserve and maybe some day even help us manage our great resources here in the GTA.
