Veterans of the Napoleonic Wars who came to Lake Simcoe were given land grants here in the 1820's.
One of them John White was the first to notice the high quality clay of Beaverton, and by 1839 it boasted a brickyard, a well as pottery and tile establishments.
A sawmill and gristmill were built by the Beaver River.
The "Old Stone Jail" is it's oldest building.
Today it's part of the museum at Centennial park.
Over the years the Harbour has hosted fishing derbies, log rolling contests picnics and dances.
